Why I Love Real Estate

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “A house is made with walls and beams; A home is built with love and dreams.”

This quote epitomizes why I love what I do so much. Being a real estate agent not only allows me to guide families through the complex stages of buying and selling a home. It also allows me to connect with them on a personal level, knowing that this house is going to be their HOME - their safe haven. It’s exciting to be a part of this journey in people’s lives.

Why did I choose real estate? I believe it chose me! From juggling family and career; to building and eventually selling a small manufacturing business; to my vast work experience in many fields that run alongside real estate - my decision to become an agent was a natural and easy one. In fact, since family is my #1 priority, when my daughter Tara asked me to join her as an agent - it didn’t take me more than a second to say, “Absolutely!”

What I Bring to the Table

I bring several important skills to my role as a real estate agent that I've honed through the years and continue to improve upon.  Including organizational skills, negotiation, leadership, flexibility, creativity and interpersonal skills.

Another important part of my skill set is volunteering, which I’ve done extensively through the years in different capacities. Often taking on leadership roles. I really believe this compassion for helping others comes out in my work with clients.

An Added Skill I Bring to Clients

I'm a certified Home Staging Realtor with the IAHSP (International Association of Home Staging Professionals).  Which means I can help home sellers get their house ready and looking its best for potential buyers. 

It can be quite overwhelming for home sellers who've been in their home for a long time.  Where do they even begin?  That's where I come in.  We will sit down and develop a detailed and organized plan that not only honors their belongings, but allows them to feel good about saying goodbye to things they no longer need.  Then, we can work on showing off the home in its best possible light with the finishing touches.  

All this means that homeowners not only have a much better selling experience, it also translates into more money  they can receive for their sale of their home.
